wednesday afternoon, i left work early to spend time with the kids. junior, unfortunately, had 2 1/2 hours worth of homework! emily and i went out to the front yard to look for "treasures" but got sidetracked when we got to the patch of weeds.
now, the patch of weeds are like a tradition to us. in the spring and in the summer, we let them grow so that we can search and search and search for 1,000s of ladybugs each and every day!
yesterday, to our surprise, in the middle of winter (okay-okay, southern cali winter), there were ladybugs.
not thousands, but at least 40-50. emily took them to school today for her show and tell - or SHARE. simple joys. oh, my favorite times......
