okay- seriously.... my friend ARAXI is an amazing photographer! she took maternity pics of me, a task i would not let anyone else in my life attempt... and she emailed me the gallery today! incredible! if you ever need a photographer and you don't use her- you are nuts!

Showered....

Bucket hosted a wonderful baby shower at her house for me this past weekend. It was really nice! She is so good for me because she makes me snap out of my anto-social self! Had a wonderful time with wonderful people, food, and games! So happy for the people who still put up with me even when i drop off the face of the earth!

Then today, my partner teacher Nerina, planned a surprise baby shower with my students. They kept it a secret for weeks. Each student wrote me a poem and a letter. The presented them and gave me gifts. Such a wonderful day. I cannot believe how wonderful my students are. They have very little, yet they still give to me. I have the best job in the world.

My mom and other family members bought me my stroller and my carseat and I LOVE IT!
THANKS BUCKET! I LOVE YOU TO PIECES~ SORRY I AM SUCH A PAIN IN THE BUTT!

i am embarrassed to tell you how overdue this thank you is.

one day, when i needed it most, i got this precious little package in the mail....


and it had all these little goodies in it.....


so thank you my angel friend! you have no idea how much this brightened up my week...and still when i think back on the kindness you gave to me, it makes me smile.

my best friend lives in south carolina and i don't get to see her as much as i would like to but the other day she posted a little pick me up on her blog just for me. hey- that's what friends are for, right?

So i spoke-

i actually did it.

i said goodbye to poppy this week. it was awful.

i used one of my favorite quotes, got up in front of everyone, with her casket by my side, her husband and children right in front of me, her mother and brother and father to the right of him, and this is what i said.....

Whenever I needed Poppy, she was there for me. Whether it was something trivial or tragic, she always made time for me. When we were struggling- on any level, all we had to do was glance at one another- no words were needed. Poppy will always be one of the most beautiful people I have ever known.

There is a quote by Audrey Hepburn that has always reminded me of the type of woman Poppy was, from sunrise, to sunset, and it goes like this.

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness,
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people,
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry,
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you will never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed.
Never throw anyone out.

In my opinion, the best way to show that you love Poppy- and the best way to remember her with grace and honor… is to live like this- To live the way that she showed us.

I will love you for always my dear, sweet friend.

i could hardly get through it. i had to stop and breathe every few words. i was shaking like a leaf in the wind. it made it all too real.
